Fellow Runners,

The USATF Cross Country Nationals were held at Golden Gate Park in pouring rain and wind on Saturday.  A giant eucalyptus collapsed onto the course after the 60+ men's race, so that subsequent races had to run around a track.  Joannie Siegler represented the women.  Norm Coppinger, Bryan Thoreson, and Bud Haas ran for the 60+ men.  David Gerner, Jim Farrar, Michael Sweeney, and Michael Guss ran as under-60 masters.

Mike and Cathrine Lemaire were down in Oxnard on Sunday, where they ran the Santa to the Sea 5K.  Each won their respective age group.

Also on Sunday, Craighton Chin and Steve Shaffer ran the Honolulu Marathon.  Mark Goltz ran the 10K and took an age group prize.
