Weekend Race Results (2/18-2/24)
Fellow Runners,
We have some spectacular trail results from Saturday. First, Annie Ciernia won the women's race at the Dupont Trail Marathon up near Olympia, Washington, setting the course record. Closer to home, Jen Schmidt won the women's race at the Mt Umunhum 34K. And several GVHers ran the Salmon Falls 50K, led by Nick Siino.
At the Davis Stampede on Sunday, Brendan Ward took third overall in the 5K. Many others placed in their age groups. In the 10K, Pam Runquist and Marie Argentine-Chen took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the women's race. Again, several others placed in their age groups.
Joe Krovoza led GVH at the Stampede Half Marathon, followed by an army of pacers. Joe, David Gerner, and Don Hagen each placed in his respective age group.
The pacer team, led by Ernie Shimizu, elected to target chip time rather than gun time. Under this criterium, our 2:05 pacer Jonathan London nailed his target within a tenth of a second. Thanks to ALL the pacers for stepping up and helping out!
