Weekend Race Results (6/19-6/25)

Fellow Runners,

The Western States Endurance Run is the oldest and arguably most competitive 100 miler in the world. Thanks to members like Ling Ru and Bruce Labelle, GVH is privileged to operate one of the aid stations and, as compensation, receives an entry into the race. Kelly Barber was our man this year, and he had a good race. Starting slowly due to snow and epic mud, Kelly paced conservatively through the heat of the canyons. He gradually sped up after nightfall, picking off less-hardy runners as he went. At 3:40am, he crossed the finish line in Auburn with a total time of 22:40.

Of 369 runners who started the race, only two thirds finished within the 30-hour cutoff. Kelly took 38th place and earned a coveted silver buckle.

That's the only GVH racing I know about from last weekend. Did anyone else race?
